Freight Insurance Policy

When insurance applies to a shipment, and what it covers.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

Insurance is not automatic. A shipment is insured only when a policy has been arranged and documented for that specific consignment.

When you are insured

If insurance is arranged, you will receive the following before you pay any premium: the insurance provider, the policy or certificate reference, the coverage amount, the premium charged, and the exclusions and conditions that apply. These details are also recorded against your shipment and shown on your invoice.

When you are not insured

If no policy has been documented for your shipment, the shipment is not insured and we will tell you so plainly — no premium will be charged and no cover is implied by anything on this website.

Exclusions and conditions

Coverage, exclusions and claim conditions are set by the insurer for each policy. Typical exclusions include prohibited items, inadequate packaging, and goods that were mis-declared. The policy documents for your shipment take precedence over any general description.

Refunds of premiums

An insurance premium is refundable only where the insurer’s terms allow it for the specific policy. Where a refund is possible, it will be stated in writing when the premium is quoted.

Making a claim

Contact our team with your tracking code, photographs of the packaging and goods, and the policy reference. We will pass the claim to the insurer and help you follow it through. Last updated: 29 October 2026.
